Mission Statement: “Using our collective expertise, the members of the Central Minnesota EMS Region dedicate themselves to improve EMS services throughout our community by enhancing communication, collaboration, and supporting those in the business of saving lives.”
About Us: The Central Minnesota EMS Region is one of eight EMS regions in the State of Minnesota. Serving the counties of Benton, Cass, Chisago, Crow Wing, Isanti, Kanabec, Mille Las, Morrison, Pine, Sherburne, Stearns, Todd, Wadena, and Wright. The Region spans 12,430 square miles and has over 600,000 people making the central region the second largest in geography and population. Over 300 EMS agencies provide services in the Region, 2/3 of these agencies are considered to be volunteer. The Central Minnesota EMS Region is governed by a Joint Powers Board. Each member county appoints two commissioners to the Join t Powers Board. The purpose of the Board is to improve planning, coordination, and implementation of EMS within the 14 county region, as well as fiscal oversight. The Boar meets four times per year. The Regional EMS Advisory Committee is comprised of 14 voting members. Tow EMS providers from each county are appointed to the Advisory Committee by their County Board. The main role of the Advisory Committee is to advise and make recommendations to the Joint Powers Board regarding the development, maintenance, funding, and evaluation of EMS within the 14 county Central Region. |
